Hey there Piper,
Did you hear that today Adnan was granted a new trial? And that his lawyer was going to fight to get him out on bail? Pretty amazing really.

I personally think he didn't do it. But even if he did, the evidence decidedly didn't point to his having done it. Not from my reading. Even today the judge said that Adnan's lawyer, Christina Guitierrez, was ineffective representation and she failed in properly investigating the cell tower data.

Anyway... I too am obsessed with this case. I disagree with some of te things that I wrote here... But it is interesting to see how much has been uncovered about the case in just the last year alone.

I am thoroughly obsessed with this case! I have my own suspicion about how it happened: Jay and Adnon did have something to do with it (too many coincidences), BUT maybe not everything. I believe that Adnon could have been jealous about Hae's new boyfriend. As a single recent college graduate who dated a guy pretty seriously for a year, I can see how anger and jealousy can build up and destroy someone. I do, however, believe that he loved her, so hurting her wouldn't be in the cards. I think that Jay and Adnon were planning on scaring Hae- kidnapping her and leaving her in the woods alone. All of this to get back at her for breaking his heart. What happened in the woods could only be described as bad luck. The theory of the serial killer isn't totally unbelievable, and maybe because I've watched too many episodes of Castle, but what if the serial killer (or anyone who saw her out there) did kill her after she was dumped alone in the woods? That would explain Jay and Adnon covering for each other (and then Jay ratting out Adnon) and not wanting to admit to murder. Because they didn't "technically" do it.
