So... if Dr. Hap is deathly allergic to tomatoes, why did he have a can of tomato paste in his kitchen?

Even the poster is quite lovely. O, something closed, A, something open. Five birds flying free in the starry sky, with a figure looking up at them.

Random thoughts: Was N/P/OA a replacement for August or a happy accident for Hap? What is the lavender liquid that August was soaking in - a preservative? Did Hap kill August or did August commit suicide to leave an intolerable life?

Why is that stupid ring SO important to Homer? Is the thought of it merely his lifeline to sanity after years of captivity?

Where do the dungeoneers go to the bathroom? I don't recalls seeing toilets, so is the spring their commode as well? Not plot relevant at all, and perhaps I shouldn't post such things but I was wondering, and it adds to the totality of realism.

In what way are each of the captives a representative of ourselves? At first blush, in their Trivial Pursuit Piece of the Pie Shaped Cells:
Hope, Homer. Despair, Scott. Skepticism, Rachel. Trust, Prairie. What pie piece is missing with August gone? What pie piece is needed to make the pie whole and leave the game?
