Some of the very things you post about the apostle John have become questioned due to writings done years after the death of Jesus. Yet, you continue to blog about these things despite an education which gave you awareness of the many discrepancies about "who"and how many people wrote the Bible and NT many years later. You don't even mention there is quite often and primarily no first person account for much of the scriptural writings the Bible and New Testament contain.

It's also strange you don't question these things and would put forth untruth--stories made up by mere people, not God, to make a scripture have more "godlike" value.

You have been candid about your own upbringing in which your father has indoctrinated you to this belief system but his inherent humanness, like yours any many others, failed not only you but himself and perhaps other foolish believers.

Please, look at this as an indicator to question what was presented to you at a tender age whereby you did not have enough experiential knowledge to choose a "belief system". Perhaps visit a cognitive therapist regarding the "hole" in your heart/soul instead of believing in a "pretend friend" like the made up god of this world and using your site to preach myths.

You and millions of others who believe in a deity like God/Jesus or Allah are messing up this world. It's like you're a bunch of babies holding on to a security blanket or firmingly holding on to a celestial Santa Claus. Such belief does nothing to make a life more meaningful because the God concept interferes with understanding this is the ONLY life you have, that people's lives are so short and it is beyond any religious belief or practice in living to not treat life as we live it in the here and now as so very precious. Most cannot grapple with this reality that this life one lives is all there is. There is no proof whatsoever of a life beyond. None!

If more people would value life as it is lived instead of focus on an afterlife it wouldn't necessarily stop wars or murder because of various negative character traits or brain disorders, but would definitely give a true "sacredness" to life religion does not in all it's so-called writings by uneducated people who lived hundreds of years ago. Ancient does not mean Intelligent or Truth! Quite the contrary

I used to be part of a belief system but at an early age questioned things. Like why my Church only had white people, why weren't women priests, pastors, reverends, etc.; why do Bibles contain conflicting scripture by apostles, why does the Bible's God convey so warlike, angry, mean and unforgiving who allowed slavery, beating of wives, children, slaves yet is these days preached as a wise, kind, omnipotent being?

It's painfully obvious most people have NEVER read the Bible or NT and yet would go nuts, might even do violence, to someone expressing such insights as I'm doing now. It is sick the way so-called people who follow Christian or Islamic belief systems have never read, studied their own religious texts or worse--never bothered to study other belief systems.

If you're going to preach to people then have the sanity of intellectual balance to have studied ALL religions and have asked questions which give concrete answers as to whether a god exists in this world. More importantly, PROVE a god exists instead of getting all maudlin or hysterically violent. News and tv shows every single day televise either a maudlin or violently hysterical belief segment that a god exists. This is insane!

Nowhere in history did Atheists or unbelievers do horrific injustices to people like religious people have done and continue to cause. Despite what religious people think Hitler was raised a Christian. The worst atrocities of inhumanity were conceived and committed by Christians, Islam/Muslims, Buddhists (Khmer Rouge), etc.

People help people. Period. Give your thanks to the people who help you and not to a "pretend friend" the made up man-god of this world who was written about, perpetuated by people of the ancient world who barely understood the importance o keeping excrement out of their food.

As far as any belief system which still exists that hasn't done inhumanity against man is: Jainism. If people absolutely must have something to follow and give value, choose Jainism for Christ sake! It's ancient (since that has meaning to many folks) and envelops a kindly intelligent loving respect toward ALL living things the other religions cannot hold a candle.
