Why the heck would we pull this greatness down? Out of the question. Think you understood the movie a whole lot better than I did. Good on ya.

This was definitely interesting to read and makes us think about all the possible interpretations from this movie. The one where I mostly agree with you (the one you mentioned rubbish) is 'Comet Movie Multiple Linear Universal Timelines'

I feel like this movie is for people who want a closure over an ex who they clearly want to be with.
There is one theory, which might be false, is that they actually both want to get back together and as if bounce into different universes, to get the ending they want.
In the first two universes, she breaks it off (the first one is a bit ambiguous since we can only gauge from the train conversation that she was the one who dumped him due to some reasons.)
The second one is where her expression changes when he is about to propose her (and she's mad at him for hiding something from her) and says something like,"I like you because you like me". She storms off saying that he almost had her. What I don't get it is why does he not chase her and tell the real reason instead of flushing the ring down the toilet.
Then in the last part, after she says she's pregnant and still in love with Jack, he says something along the lines of, "Relationships are narcissistic, you basically want people to love you as much as you love yourself." By this statement, I infer that he knew where he pissed her off during his last proposal, resulting in her breaking it off.

And there's the paradox of the lie, you have clearly wrote in the blog that "Told her to wait until they had gotten to know each other better and were emotionally connected so that it would be more interesting and more bittersweet."
Let's say he believes the lie, which would mean that their relationship is doomed and there's no hope to salvage it anymore but it also means the above sentences he exactly said to her. That it's bitter-sweet and are emotionally connected.
But, after the suspense, he goes ahead and kisses her, which would mean that he caught her again, just like all those moments before she used to tell a lie but.... it would also imply that they aren't truly connected to each other since he said that he would believe her only when they are emotionally connected to each other and completely vulnerable.

Maybe this is out of context and I wrote too much in a bit of gusto, haha! Feel free to take it down or share your opnions!
