Inception like layers... nice! The original really has stayed with me even to this day, I think about it often. It was not loved during its release, mocked by the trades, they expected something better than empty ego filled acting from truly the creme de la creme of young Hollywood. And yet the movie was unique back then, beautyful looking faces, intelligent, narcissistic, nothing can stop them, but fate -the fate that they made- stops them with a hatchet. We were used to innocents running for their lives in horror movies. Flatliners said, do we deserve our fate, have we triggered the events, are we not the innocent zero to hero that we fantasize to be? No wonder the movie didn't do well in the box office back then.
