1. Cathy wasn't "proven innocent". She simply wasn't proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. (Like O.J.) Big difference. We know she's guilty, she admitted it.

2. There's nothing whatsoever morally wrong with taking the law into your own hands when the law has failed to achieve justice. Lewis is not guilty here of anything (that we know of).

3. Cathy cannot go to jail for a civil suit, but she could (and would be) successfully tried for shooting the maid here. She could also be tried by the Feds for violating the patients civil rights, even if acquitted at the state level. This happened to the Rodney King cops.

4. Hard for me to feel bad about the wife being punished for sleeping around. Obviously not cool. But GHB is something that is used for date rape. So it's possible that the stranger visitor is someone who raped her, not a paramour. And Cathy was unable to see the difference. Maybe this guy preyed on her more than once? Maybe the question in the video was about something else? Not taking a phone call means nothing at all.

Seems like the wife's sinfulness or lack thereof is meant to be ambiguous here. Which is the real reason we're not supposed to operate outside the law, to avoid innocent people getting hurt by mistake.

Way late to this party but I rooted for Lewis the entire time. His method was extreme but he was left empty handed by the so called justice system we have in this country so he was rightly pissed. Even if his wife was a dirty cheater and the daughter wasn’t his, it wasn’t Cathy’s job to be judge and jury so the punishment fit the crime. I tried to recommend another closed box film called White Chamber but I can’t seem to get it to go through on the suggestion tab. Here is the trailer and it also deals with morality and has some great twists. https://youtu.be/NmLcb1FvBBM

It's another one of those movies that has the 'protagonist' do really stupid mistakes. He had all of this planned but walked into issues over and over.
I quite liked Cathy/Natalie. She reminded me of the Rebecca De mornay character in The hand that rocks the cradle. Lewis was right, she is a fighter and she put up one hell of a fight. I did wonder if she actually killed her twin for whatever reason. Wasn't it her sisters best mate that their dad went off with? Natalie could have blamed Cathy or something?

This movie was definitely good, type of movie that keeps you on the tip of you seat. I find they should of elaborated on that night at the bar, how everything went down with lewis' wife. I got the feeling some scene were missing.. and the question I kept asking myself is why would Cathy get involved? IT somewhat takes away the credibility of the movie, why o through the trouble of killing someone because of their sins ?

Two things:
At the beginning of the movie, “Cathy” is taken Yoga lessons with a handsome teacher. One of the girls asks her in the shower “do u know if he does house calls?” and Cathy reacted very upset, revealing her revengeful/religious personality. She is a real sin-punisher. So, I think she really killed the patients at the hospital because of religious convictions and she is not lying about the cheater Lewis wife.

2. The title of the movie 10x10. I thing this is a word game. Yes, 10x10 are the dimensions of the cell where Cathy is being kidnapped but it also sounds as the Talion law (eye for an eye); again, thr punishment idea behind the whole movie.

Also, when she calls Lewis by the name Robert... wtf ... did she also know things about Lewis? Was Lewis cheating his wife as well by using a fake name? or was Robert the name of the guy who was seeing her wife at the hospital and Cathy wanted to mess with Lewis ... this point is still drilling my brain.

Love your review and the many comments. This was a real mind-bender. Suzi Ewing does a great job directing and writing. I note that she has not directed for several years. If this film is her return, I look forward to even more psychological complexity in the future. Only one small criticism — the fight scenes were amazing, but I was not convinced that these characters would have had this highly choreographed combat capability — the martial art perfection was more akin to a retired Navy Seal. To be honest, in the early stage of identifying the background of Lewis and Cathy, I expected there to be a military connection for this very reason. Oh well. Still a great film.

It would have been great if the twin that committed suicide was wanted for some murders. But since the twin that is alive switched identities, it now leaves the murderous twin free to roam. Later we learn that the twin commits suicide not because the dad runs off but because her sister had murdered someone.

So basically the bad twin is still alive but everyone thinks she is the good twin.

The good twin committed suicide but is tought to be the bad twin.
