Hey there Leslie,
I think I liked the film better than you did - a bit - but at the same time, I don't disagree with your take here. But to compare ANY movie to a Nolan movie doesn't strike me as exactly fair. hahaha. There is only one Nolan. (I'd argue there is one Nolan, and one Denis... but I digress.) And yet, I totally get the point you are making here.

Also, seems like we come from similar angles on the sexual/nudity aspects of the film. It definitely seemed disjointedly in your face and irrelevant. What I will do, I'm going to take the win where I can, and appreciate the compliment you gave to the review as opposed to the movie! hahah. I did enjoy the ambiguity of this film, and the confidence it placed in the audience to figure it out on their own. But I can also see how that would be frustrating to the viewer when that isn't well done overall.

The problem with this film is that other films, especially Inception, proved that you could take the whole question if whose time are we traveling through and do it better. I think your breakdown of the movie is a clearer vision than is presented by the movie. I live that you share the multiple viewpoints, especially Rosario's character. And while I don't object to either nudity or sexuality in films, they seemed somewhat out of place here in that they really didn't connect to the central theme if the film. And what was the central theme? Was it that Danny can present a non sequential movie? While there is food for thought here I don't think it is clearly presented. Disappointing when the reviews are better written than the film.

Thanks, man! I am a big Danny Boyle’s fan. However, this movie let me down when I watched it for the very first time. After read your analysis, my interest to re-watch it only grow!

By the way, I liked a lot your writing style, as well your sense of humor. There’s a Brazilian classic writer famous about his sarcasm and irony called Machado de Assis. If you like literature, I recommend his novels and short stories.

A famous one is called “Memórias Póstumas de Brás Cubas” (recently, a brand new English edition was released), the protagonist and storyteller is a deadman, that begins with he dedicating his story to the worms that eat his body... hahah.

Well, let me stop! And sorry about my broken English. Man, it’s hard to find good and specific content nowadays on internet, specially in “http”. It’s all about videos and apps with a lot of distraction, advertising and people talking about the same thing in the same way, molding themselves and their content to fit the algorithms.

It feels like the internet itself still in the Feudalism Era (in a sense that Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter etc. are the “Landlords” or so. Well, that’s it. Congratulations for the good work. See ya!
