To be perusing a mindjob movie review site and come across this. And to learn something new from it. Aside from the most important thing of the call to Christ, I really appreciate when someone can see something so blatantly there that the rest of us read in a blow-by – I’m talking about your mentioning Paul’s request that Timothy bring his cloak and that Paul had already endured one winter there without it and then makes sure to impress on Timothy the need to come before winter. I was already aware of the situation with Nero scapegoating the Christians but I relish when I see small insights like this that give a human insight to these sometimes seemingly larger than life people of scripture.
