I came here to get an explanation about the kidnapped daught illogical stuff.
Yet you lost no word about it.

1 ) They wanted to bring her back to Mexico.
So she was there = no reason to sent Alejandro after her as this mission was accomplished.
She was no more nor less of a threat to the CiA than she was before they crossed the border.

2 ) Little Miss Reyes is the daughter of a billionaire.
WTH should she give up her father, family, friends and super luxury life and join Alejandro and move to the USA as an illegal?(especially as she was from the beginning aware what her father is doing)

Soldado shows the beginning of an arc in Alejandro's character. He could easily have killed Isabella, but this is not who he wants to be.

POTENTIAL STORY LINE: Sicario 3 (if it's ever made) could show that Alejandro has taken Miguel under his wing and has saved him from the cartel life. In the meantime, the cartel that Miguel ran away from has kidnapped his young sister and she is now being trafficked. So Miguel and Alejandro head off on their own to rescue her. Since it has become even more personal, this could be the best 'Sicario' yet, if Taylor Sheridan ever writes it! This storyline would complete the arc of Alejandro's character.

OH, and please don't bring back 'Kate Macer'. She'll just get in the way with her whining.

This whole thing about Alejandro being a hit man for the Colombian cartel...

In the original Sicario, it is noted that Alejandro was once upon a time a lawyer in Colombia. Is it far fetched that he became who he is in these movies AFTER his family is killed ? Maybe trained by Matt or something close to that after the tragedy happened ?

He is called " the grieving lawyer " when the Cartel boss remembers who he is at the dinner table.

The Godfather 2. Greatest movie ever made. I think you missed that one. They wanted to start a war with the cartels and drop her off in enemy territory...not bring her to her father....otherwise, great review. I hope Sicario 3 comes out soon...we need more movies like this.

When Graver told Foards "So he doesn't come and kill you" I took that as Alejandro seeking revenge for being cut loose, not as the US having been responsible for his family's death. Did I miss something else? I think if he thought the CIA was behind his family's murder he would have done something about it by now.
Although Gravers response when told to cut him loose was interesting. "Do you know how hard he was on me"? I believe is what he said. What does that really mean exactly?

Why did Alejandro activate the beacon? He knew that Matt was being sent to "clean" them up, so why draw Matt and the team to them. He didn't know that the "mule" route would end up a disaster. This is one thing that has bothered me since I first saw this second film in the trilogy.
