This movie had me at the edge of my seat. I don't know much about hunting but I was thinking campers and hunters aren't supposed to be in the same area. Who messed up? A nightmare situation that escalated due to wrong choices. I enjoyed reading the review, thank you.

I really liked the movie and loved your review, Taylor.
It reads like you we’re chatting with us.
I wonder whether giving cocaine to a stranger is also a moral dilemma, albeit minor, since the stranger was willing.
And lastly, Carol, get a life.
Stop being a Sharon, there are too many of you around.

Thanks for your awesome review,Taylor!! You write as I speak so I totally got what you dished.
Technicalities, Carol? Stick couldn’t go farther if you tried, huh?!
BTW, Great professional response, T.Holmes.

I actually wondered about the bullet, too! So, I definitely have to watch it again. I’m just disappointed I didn’t figure it out myself and look closely for that detail of following the bullet; i.e. was the backpack shot through or not. I take pride in my movie critiquing with attention to detail but this CALIBRE film kept me on edge and threw me off many turns! I missed this detail so I just had to know what my fellow reviewers thought.

Main actors were great. Moral dilemmas were justifiable; Marcus’ actions since shooting Sammy’s father was understandable due to adrenaline rush since he was under the influence of cocaine and alcohol, assuming he hadn’t slept the night before.
But would I look out for myself and protect my best friend as Marcus believed? Would I stop my alpha friend from making a mistake or agree to keep my self interests in mind.
I esp appreciate how the script had these friends looking out for each other. It’s hard to be selfish and know exactly the right thing to do- when you’re hungover and stalking, accidentally shooting a child, a murder weapon shot by you but registered only to your best friend because you forgot your ammo, a rifle aimed at you by the father whose son you just shot, only to witness your best friend shoot that guy to protect YOU while your life was threatened!!! Just so much dilemma! Hence why the plot thickens when Vaughn seems obliged to protect the best friend who protected him and obligation to his new family fiancée and unborn child in mind, and constantly being reminded of that to be pressured to make decisions of unforgivable bad or worse choices within minutes or... you’re dead. What’s the ladder?
Exceptional film: “WWYouD?”

The bullet in the tree was a huge continuity error (for lack of a better term.) when Marcus is dragging the dad’s body, his backpack comes off, and there is absolutely no evidence of an exit wound or damage to the backpack. That’s one magic bullet.

I give that a pass though as the movie is outstanding. I’ve watched it a few times. I discovered it just before I was planning to cancel my Netflix subscription. Glad I did.

Is that even allowed? I mean fucking hell , hunting wild animals? I don’t give a flying fuck about whatever the fuck you call it , stalking or tracking or some bullshit like that. In any SANE country this would have been illegal from minute-1. Instead they are having dinners and parties and drinking and having sex while shooting wild animals who cannot shoot you back. If you have that fucked up macho nonsense in your blood then go to Taliban or Kashmir and shoot some terrorists. That will definitely be great adventure for Scottish dumbfucks.

I was also wondering about the significance of the bullet they dug out of the tree since they boy had no exit wound in his head but they never do resolve that part of the storyline. Carol must be so fun at parties! Yikes! I had this film on my to watch list a while and finally gave it a go last night. Better than my typical Netflix recommendations as well.

Great summarisation of the moral dilemma of the movie! I just watched it for the second time yesterday...one of the best movies I have seen in ages. I adore how fast it changes from an average movie to one of great tension and thrills. The second time around, as much as I knew what was to come, I equally enjoyed the mess the two characters (innocently) get themselves into.

I particularly like how they wrapped it up...neither me or my father thought he'd shoot his best friend. Sure he was faced with the ultimate decision, they both die or he can save himself for his fiance and baby, but choosing the most cowardly choice of all. Then to stare at the camera, haunted by what he did for the remainder of his life. Would that really be a life worth living???
