You are the first because you are the best Gregory! Duh. But yeah, we agree. Give me something new. Something different. Such a clever premise at the base of it.

Alright, so what you are saying - subtly - is that all of my dates in my timeline are messed up? Bah. I'm going to have to open the movie up again and validate this. If you could help me find the spot in the movie that'd save me time for sure. Definitely want to get that fixed before the SECOND commenter comes along! hahaha.

hi taylor,

great write up as always! how am i the first person to comment on this!?

one correction is that it's been 50 years, not 500... i think. i remember the "alien" saying that his grandparents had been born on earth, and that it had been 50 years.
but it's still a trip since it begs the question - how did the people(?) keep up the illusion that they were human without aging? did they have to go in for a memory wipe check up every so often?

i also enjoyed looking back at some minor plot points after the big reveal, like how hannah liked to pretend to have an elevator operator job... just like a synth probably would have had before the uprising.

i can't agree more that this story had a couple great twists, and provided a lot of bang for the buck. with how limitless the storytelling possibilities are in the sci-fi genre, it always amazes me how most big hollywood sci-fi movies just regurgitate the same tropes over and over again. oh my gosh, another movie where a bunch of assholes are stuck in a tin can in space and some evil alien(?) kills one person at a time until... yaaaawn. anyways, i was thrilled that this story kept me guessing.
