The only thing I have to offer, and I mean it somewhat jokingly but not too much so, is that Samantha knows where Husband if he goes to Vietnam will die. She likely told Hans and her Mother as well. So they do have time to fix that issue with some of Hans money to send him off to college in foreign country as a work around to the draft. Though the fact they didn't do that suggests that Samantha doesn't retain any knowledge of her prebirth self. Which also I guess guarantees her prebirth self had to die or there would be another version of herself that would just have to randomly dissappear or stay trapped at the cabin or be let out of that box. But absent any knowledge of what will transpire and assuming she passed insufficient knowledge of how her life would transpire no actual info must of been handed down to Hans other than your my father don't screw stuff up.

I am curious bout the scene though in the stop and grab some cash and go, was that intended to be a quasi-homage to pulpfiction robbery. If so was the dude in the robbery intended to look quentin-like. Thats my thoughts in those scenes when watching. Oh and no reviewer touches on the God character and his Safe of consequences. despite being a quasi god character he apparently is not immune to bullets, though if the task he sets the person on succeeds that time loop gets reset and so does he. oh well. its odd to have a quasi god character with a magical safe, but then I guess its odd to have a briefcase with a bright gold magic light coming out of it.

To each his own. Scott Eastwood was either doing a favor for a friend or is obviously desperate for work. I get the $ 85 budget. Other than a tax write off, what sane person would invest in such a horrible script ? The copyright owners of The Butterfly Effect are a generous and forgiving group. When I thought this movie couldn't get any worse, it did. The beach scene at the end convinced me it was a comedy. One of the most ridiculous movies I have ever watched.

Too much. Glad it worked for you. It was a fun little movie. And if I had made it, I'd be extremely happy with the terrible acting and the zero special effects because it all worked at the end of the day. I think it was really similar in essence to ARQ, which, is a really high compliment in my book.

Thanks again for the recommendation Chris,

Taylor, thank you, and so honored. You do it every single time. Your in-depth fission of each movie/show provides so much in the way of NN (neuronal nourishment). I easily could live off nothing but your reviews (and maybe some water). You broke into & down much stuff I had not quite thought of --- and yes, some stuff we both thought... The laugh factor near the beginning???? Yup, 100% same page. It was enough that I considered not continuing to watch. Usually, a film has to call to me near the beginning in some abstruse way. Not sure what did that here. best guess... I think it was the story that I just let take me forward. Also, I think I was pulled in by what I perceived were various visual clues being dropped by the director - starting in that first cabin scene. I fixated on the matchbook Samantha has at very beginning in the cabin... it has a logo on it. I had no idea what it might mean, but I paused and jotted down the name (Catena's). Turns out, that's the name of the store where the the robberies happen (and fun fact, it's a real store, in Southhampton, NY, where they filmed). Towards the end of the film, I did have a quasi-epiphany thinking about the notion that matchbooks (for stores, restaurants) were EVERYWHERE in 50's, 60's, even 70's. Then, come modern times, and gonzo! I thought that was a hint that this film was more layered than it's initial clunkyness leads you to believe.
Your reviews are truly splendid. This film has been stuck in my bellum-lobes since I watched it, and wow, you've just given me another viewing, in your peel-back.
Never stop! Ha!
