Yeah, good questions. Been a while since I’ve watched the film, but I do recall wondering similar things myself. On the Christmas thing — yeah, the implication is that Jack’s death on Christmas is why Jackie has such a visceral hatred of the holiday. I’m guessing that she doesn’t consciously know why, but the trauma of losing him is baked into that date for her.

As for the Babak connection – it’s absolutely intentional — same actor, and the film wants you to make that link. The boy who shoots Jack in Iraq and the boy Jackie knows as a child are meant to be the same person, which adds another layer to the loop.

And yes, the gravestone names creates a predestination paradox loop. The gravestone names theory is one of the cleaner explanations the film offers — Jack reads the names, tells the doctor, the doctor files them, and that’s how they end up on the stones. The loop generating its own evidence.

Ok but there are still more questions than answers:
Jack/Jackie is suspicious
Why does she hate Christmas and his birthday is on Christmas?
Isn’t Babak the same boy that shots him in Iraq?
Weren’t the names on the graves the ones Jack told the doctor? That’s probably where he read them in the first place.

But why does jackie ask Starks before the credits start rolling at the end, “how much time to we have” ? From that, it seems that perhaps jackie could be aware of multiple timelines simultaneously.

“He’s making love to himself here people!” – this reminded me so much of Predestination.

“All those guys… they stay with you, all of us, we haunt you.” – I think all those men could be actually the same person. The main character is a veteran soldier but is also the suicidal by starvation and the child molester (Jackie is a little girl but he imagines her as a woman in the future).

Could it be possible that the final sequence in the film actually never happened?
It could be a sort of heaven moment for the dying Jack, which was not actually fulfilled in the future, since Jack could not change anything.
This would validate the entire rest of the story in the time travel sense.
The only alternative to this is bad writing.
