Two thirds of the movie: raising interesting philosophical and ethical questions.
Last third of the movie: totally forgetting about these philosophical and ethical questions. Action! Robots! Happy ending! Yaaay!
.
The last scenes are worthy of a horror film: Will has created a Zoe-replica, so he can forget his real daughter, the real Zoe who died in the car accident, and avoid facing his guilt, considering he is responsible for her death. Meanwhile, his own replica, supposedly a copy carbon of himself, doesn't show an ounce of grief or guilt and seems to have totally forgotten "his" family.
.
There is so many ways this film could have been better. Imagine Will kidnapped by Biodyne, then escaping, only to discover that his family lives happily with a replica of himself.

So, I watched this movie on one of those free sites with a million ads on it because if I had to pay for it in some way, I’d be pissed. I felt like this was sci-fi for simpletons since things were just assumed to work with no tech jargon behind it. So yeah, it was a bit simple for me. I got the feeling that robot William probably imprinted himself again in Jones body (since Ed was shot in the head) and then went on to market it for non government use and real Will and the family army of clones went on to live happily ever after on the beach with some nice diverted funds from his own robot and Jones clones! Typical Hollywood fare.

That's a good point - need to go see the movie again - I don't clearly remember his getting shot and how bad it was. But you have a good point. If his brain matter was splattered, I'm doubting the copy would work well...

It’s very unlikely that they can use Ed’s mind into the new Jones’ body since Ed was shot in the head and they could most likely damage his memories.

Wait, what Mina? You loved it? Huh. Maybe I'm wrong.

Regardless, that is a pretty simple question to answer. They had one fewer boxes than they needed in order to recreate the entire family. So they had to make do, and erase Zoe from everyone's memory. But then, at the end, once they were out of the woods, they used two of the boxes and recreated his boss, as well as Zoe. Yes? Does that make sense? Which would also mean, that they had to recreate Zoe's memories in everyone's minds that had been erased earlier as well. The replicas definitely were glitchy. But even if they were, he could keep recreating them until he eventually sorted the tests out. He had their memories backed up and stored, ready to implant at will.

Did everyone else love this movie too? Huh.

I HAVE TO FIGURE THIS OUT
So i watched the movie last night and i loved it!!! As a med student, you know, typical. BUT: Why did he have to erase zoe out of everyone’s mind and decide later on to bring her back. How did that suddenly become possible?
Also, the wife and their son clearly had some issues. Almost looked like she was eventually going to die. How did he fix that? Plus, the teacher? The dead bodies? So many questions
