I thought (was hoping) when it jumped to her at the institute that they were going to call her emily and find out she had been there since she was a child because of trauma related to her father The way they ended it seemed silly. She had been there 10 years. It was all very back and forth and why keep talking about her dad and emily if the ending wasn’t going to be about that

I thought this was a very annoying movie but had a different take on the ending. I thought she really was under attack by some evil force, and it marked her like she thought, but Faithfull was the embodiment of her fighting it off.

Once she looked in the mirror she saw the spirit inside her and was fully taken over, which gave her the power to leave (they show the monitors flickering as a sign of the demon).

I don't know the deal with the truck, other than to suggest she is now just killing everybody, or it is infectious and she is spreading the possessions to others.

Alternately, perhaps the doctors were really just there to help the demon take over and were in on the whole thing, so they gladly let her go. That is probably too far out of a stretch though. It would make the ending more interesting, though.

I think the movie should have kept with the plot of the scary darkness creature which was the most interesting part of the movie instead of the split personality altered reality plot. I agree with the previous comment that the psych ward staff would have come running and not let her just walk out. I did like the scene of Faithful’s mirror image not following her movement and giving a sinister grin. Best part of the movie! The ending was unsatisfying and confusing. I still wasn’t sure what happened which makes an ending with a twist feel more like a big WTF? But I will give them credit it sent me googling.

Someone who can't make a good movie does one on DMT, boy did it stink. So has anyone done a movie on the DMT subject before? A drug that seems like it would be very scary, no I wouldn't try it. I have read a lot about it and as drugs go, this would be a foolish, more so, drug to try. It all comes down to 1.make a movie 2.some streaming service will pay for it, it doesn't have to have substance or much of a budget, or even make sense. Film making can be done by anyone it seems. Movie irritated me.

Thanks for the review. I mostly agree with your assessment/guesses concerning the ending. However, based on said assessment I'd have to guess that Skye never physically escaped her confinement but actually regressed back into her mind and never walked out of the institution. That might explain why the psychiatrist/therapist in the room with her at the time did not run after her as Skye leisurely strolled for the exits. Ok ok if the therapist was murdered as you say she couldn't likely chase Syke down the hall either. But then, we were told Syke was in a "medium security" facility which implies there would be some impediment to the inmates just walking out in the night. So if not in her mind, Skye could not have just strolled out without some "medium security" challenge/alarm. To me, the latter supports my notion that Syke was back in her drug-ravaged mind and not actually walking around committing murders. Maybe, LOL.

About that annoying truck-scene at the very end. At first, it was rather odd that the truck stopped, and the *driver's door* (unless this was supposed to be Great Britain or some such place where they drive from the right [wrong!] side) opened without so much as a gesture or sound coming from inside the truck. Come on now, any driver stopping to pick up young females in the middle of the night on a dark desolate road might at least same something like "hi ya-sweet-tang need a ride?" or "what are you doing out here all alone my pretty?" or more likely "quick get in, I can't wait to rape and murder you--not necessarily in that order" or at the very least, "how much for a quick Lewinsky"? Hehe!

Ugh, why did I just watch this? Especially after you basically warned us not to. Movies like this make me agitated that I wasted a few good hours watching something that never was in the first place especially with that reveal at the end.
