Movie needed some rewrites tbh. It's not bad but it's all over the place. Lots of plot holes that don't have the cleverness of the web that is coherence or primer. Seems clever but likely just may be mistakes IE:

Inconsistent rules for travel

The house at the end differs for them than it does for derek.. But is this continuity error or intentional?

Bloody pencil and a missing person after saying he didn't kill him.. Would imply prison, but since the house differs, it would be irrelevant.

Mr fucking Wallace. Seriously. What was up with this guy knowing all about the closet and instantly knowing they're in the wrong world? The director says he's a guide but you have to explain how he's an omnipotent one for it to make sense.

June said something peculiar too.
"It wasn't my first time."
Obviously it means, she's not a virgin, but also, the truth game revealed she and Dereck never had sex.
So it might be "wasn't my first time (with you [Jude])".

But yeah, great movie, and it really needs a sequel/prequel - not necessarily to explain EVERYTHING, but to explain the Closet, Mr Wallace & Dereck's knowledge regarding the anomaly.

I absolutely loved this movie, my only lingering concern, (even after reading all of the information you out forth) was whether or not Jude will be in some serious trouble back in world0. His first words to the authorities were “I didn’t kill Dereck”, and now, all of a sudden Dereck is missing in the eyes of the law, and they have the murder weapon... could be tough times ahead for Jude0

The ending. They are supposed to be in world 0, but when they come down the steps, the house is clean and they do not pass Derek. Derek was going in as they were going down so they would have had to pass him, and when the cop goes up, the house has cups everywhere. Does this mean there is another world?

I think you have to leave with what you traveled with. Jude need June, the pencil and the playing card. Had he lost any of those I don’t think they would have been able to jump. Derrick put the deck of cards in his pocket that’s why he was able to jump.

I am confused about the ending where they zoom in on the pencil with the fresh looking blood on it. Why didn’t it stay in the world that Derrick went to? How did it get that blood on it and end up back in world0? The first thing Jude says when he gets back to world0 is that he didn’t kill Derrick. Is he screwed because Derrick is now in another world and missing in world0 and all they can find is a bloody pencil which most likely has Derrick’s blood on it?

I don't mind bad movies at all, but I just cannot abide movies that wantonly break their own set of rules, and this happens to be one of the worst offenders. For me, the movie just cannot decide what are the prerequisites for a successful teleportation to alternate universes. Throughout the entirety of its runtime (well, almost entirely anyway), the movie has the viewers convinced that the portal works ONLY when 2 persons are in the closet, with possibly a "passport" of sorts required as well, which is either the rather obvious playing card or the trifling little pencil. But of course, the final scene of Derek's successful teleportation then gleefully ignores the rules set by 90 minutes worth of footage before it...bleurgh!!!

It's a good thing that Taylor you actually managed to come up with a theory to circumvent the portal rules, and that is every time anybody is in the portal for 7 minutes, they would be teleported to some universe. It just so happens that Jude (when alone), Kent and Nell are teleported to their very own universe they begin with, which for all intents and purposes, the portal is not working for them. But I'm not sure the filmmakers have this in mind though, from what I can tell in their chat with you. So yeah, good job, Taylor, you ought to be writing movie scripts for real!
