Life is way too hard to sit down and analyze this one. Not saying it wasn’t art or that it didn’t have brilliant actors. It’s like this.... if the movie you make only makes sense to 5% of the viewers does that make the rest of the 95% idiots or the 5% who get it art house geniuses... I guess I’m an idiot who needs to keep her brain cells for my everyday needs.

I couldn't wrap my head around it completely, but throughout the film I felt like the 2 "not crazy" sisters were the same person for the same reason "CameraCat" did, at pretty much every ocassion only one of them took charge in things while the other played the background and outsiders didn't seem to interact with both of them. Not even Daphne for the more part. But also thought about the possibility that all 3 of them were the same person, suffering from multiple persona disorder and potentially the film is one person just dreaming where all her 3 personalities got to be together and trying to make sense of it all... I also considered wether or not Daphne actually survived that fall, if she was a ghost, spiritual or just a figment of the lead's imagination... If perhaps this multiple personality disorder was a direct cause of witnessing the traumatic death of her friend as a child, Daphne grown up doesn't actually have alot of adult attributes besides her looks. She's making cakes of jelly serving it as food, clearly has no idea of how sex works or kids are made, her mind is stuck at the same age she died. Now that could be because the fall screwed with her head but it could also be because that's how the surviving sister/s remember her.

Thinking about it, the reason why they killed the police when he showed up could be because when the fall happened there was a police who was talking to the sisters about Daphne's fall. Maybe the police was a reimagination of that police, and him being killed was the same as "them" blocking out the truth of what really happened to Daphne.

I did think it was weird that the first thing the doctor would say was "I'm sorry but you're daughter won't be able to have any children cause of the fall". Like even if that was the case, that's not a humongous deal, not all things considered. Definitely not to a child that young. It gave you a bit of an impression that the reason Daphne went crazy was because she couldn't have kids. Which didn't make sense to me, there's always adoption etc.

Very scattered bunch of thoughts here I know, but like I said I couldn't really wrap my heads around it completely.

More specifically about "Braid": I watched it last night and was baffled. But overall, I think all three girls are one person. My first clue was when T and P were on the train, and people seemed puzzled whenever either referred to "my friend", such as when the woman tried to sit next to T, and also when the conductor confronted P in the bathroom.
Perhaps there's something about each character representing the id (T), the superego (D) and the ego (P)? I need to watch it again to see if the idea fits.

I sometimes have lucid dreams where I do know I am dreaming. When this happens, the "plot" of the dream drops away and I am in the same environment, but everything is on pause. I used to be able to do things like start to fly, but lately I haven't been able to change anything at all.
Last week I needed to be up early, and I was in a dream and had the thought "This dream is taking too long. I need to wake up". It was the weirdest feeling to be in a "dream reality", but to consciously be trying to force yourself back into waking reality. With a lot of effort, I finally succeeded, and discovered I still had a few hours left to sleep.
Anyhoo... just a comment about the thought that the only way you can know you're dreaming is to wake up.
