Okay, Nicole spit some knowledge, and I have to say I missed the mark on her interpretation of Fast Color. I honestly believe we go into movies aligning them with our knowledge and previous experiences. Reviews are subjective, and that's why I like them. I'm a woman of color, so I can not help but align myself and my beliefs with the movies I see. Be it my color, my gender, or my education; those traits are used to interpret and analyze movies.

That being said, I did not take lightly that the women with powers were women of color. I think that was purposely in the movie. Yes, on the surface, you see a woman, Ruth, with a destructive gift she can not control. Let's say second-generation gifted. She goes about her life struggling, not knowing how to control her gift. She's an alcoholic, self-medicating...She comes back home to her mother and her daughter. Her mother is first-generation gifted, and her daughter is third-generation gifted. Three generations were brought to one place to heal and learn from one another. Yes, on a basic viewing level, this is a 'superpower movie', so I'll keep it basic. In the end, the rain comes only when Ruth comes home to reconcile with her mother and reconnect with her daughter. There would be no movie without that reunion. I liked the the movie, and I liked the casting. I would definitely watch it again and try to glean more messages as I'm sure there are more...right Nicole

For me the movie is about humans and our connection with the universe. We are interconnected with it but many are blind and cannot see what is right before our eyes. Like you for instance, you miss the spiritual and scientific message of the movie that was quite subtle but obvious to those who are conscious. The black matter or black energy unseen by the min’s eye makes up more than 90 percent of the the universe. The colors that the protagonist could not see was because she could not mediate. Fear hindered her from assessing her inner powers which is common in a world of laypeople who fail to reach their true potential. Once her powers were revealed to her see consciously became one with the universe. Although, she was unknowingly using her powers which was revealed as she sat on the roof of the home and move and disassembled the clouds behind her and assumed that she had no control because the bowl did not disassemble. . . Sometimes we humans attempt to use their powers in areas that are intended for them leaving us to believe that we are powerless. The moral of the story is about the importance of knowing your powers, using them as intended and serving a universal purpose not just a familial or small local community purpose. It is also about scientist and their endless journey to research a universe that cannot be explained per their scientific ineffective methods. It’s about those chosen with a gift that is unexplainable!

You missed the mark with the analysis of this movie. I usually do not add to reviews but your arrogance and ignorance, bias, preconceived notions and prejudices emerged to your readers. You attempted to appear objective but as a communication master I was able to identify the flaws in your logic and interpretation. . . I recommend that you educate yourself on the subtopics of energy, Black matter, human spirituality and so many other subtopics relevant to use types of movies because your one sided opinion could have prevented me from being inspired by such a powerful movie. This is why I do not place much value on the opinions of critics because you guys are not qualified! I’m sure you won’t post this message but you should take heed.

I finally saw the movie and felt it should have been a short film. I kept fast forwarding hoping to see something happen & hoping the dialogue would grab me.

With the movie titled FAST COLOR I was expecting the special effects to impress me when the use of special powers would cause the fast color to appear. Oh well.

Overall thoughts :
#1 Nice to see a story deal with the struggles of making a family whole again.
#2 The story should have been boiled down to make it more potent. All the extra time diluted the story too much.
#3 The special effects were just Ok. They needed to pop more in the color category especially since the movie is called FAST COLOR.
