I’m not really sure why the Wiccan element was added to a movie about space aliens made of color but I enjoyed this otherwise. No one does crazy quite like Nic Cage. He’s perfectly at home doing roles like this and the add of Tommy Chong as the resident hippie squatter was fun. I especially liked the envisioning of alien life as a color that alters everything it touches as the regular old alien thing has been done to death. It’s much more likely that life elsewhere would be something we can’t even begin to comprehend instead of an upright form with eyes, ears and mouth. It could be color or even some type of vegetation. So this story was really ahead of its time.
