I watched this movie without looking into it what it was about or seeing any previews and about 35 minutes in, I said it felt like a some kind of bad imitation of a “Jordan Peele” type movie.

I feel like I understood what they were trying to do in giving us a “modern” type black horror movie (in a Jordan Peele type fashion) but it just fell short to me. I don’t think I am exaggerating when I say that I called out the twist soon as I saw the woman trying on her lipstick in her hotel bathroom. In the movie’s defense, I try to solve all these type of movies well before its over lol.

Feel like I am just ranting and I also never comment on blogs even though I read this one religiously. I say all that to say I did in fact feel like it was black trauma porn badly disguised as a Jordan Peele horror movie. (I still have not looked up if he was involved in the movie). Hope everyone is having a nice day.

Ok I just finished watching this and I knew zero about it and have avoided reading the reviews and comments and all I have to say is WHY? Why the heck would anyone make this film? It’s total exploitation. The actors were all fantastic but I can’t imagine why anyone on their right mind would even want to make this film. It’s not historical or about any important figures from the Civil War era, it’s just pointless exploit.
