Ok, I'm back, and although I can't recreate my original post, I can hit the salient points.
First, I don't see you touching on the SATOR square, as I saw discussed at Vox, and seems to be the backbone behind the concept. Curious of everyone's thoughts on that.
Second, I also read This Is Barry's recap/explanation and I thought I'd shout it out here, because it was quite good, and he seems to disagree with you on my third.
Third, why do you think Max and Neal are the same person? I'm failing to see the connection or any real reason given here.

After combing Reddit for a while I think I understand it now. I guess it would seem instant to the past once the future sends a message since they are already at the point backward in time that’s the destination, right? I guess it would be a matter of finding a safe place to put something so it wouldn’t be bothered with by anyone not the intended recipient. Same for the future since it would have already happened. The difference it seems about this film is inevitability which is something different from other films that touch on time travel.

It happens in real time - but backwards real time. So, while we are never shown communications from the future future - It'd be as simple as placing a letter in a turnstyle and waiting until it moves backwards to its intended time. The question you ask is a really good one. Because a letter in a turnstyle wouldn't exactly be safe.

I finally watched it. But I’m still wondering how the past was communicating with the future since all travel happens in real time. I definitely need to watch this again!
