Bah, unlike most sites where the author avoids "influencing" or "affecting" the comments, I find the comments the most fun of any post I write. Why post if you aren't wanting to engage and discuss where you are wrong, or other ideas to better clarify the movie?? So yeah - of course you got a response! hahah. Welcome again.

I do like your Renfield analogy. I had to go back and read up about the movie to even remember it. But yeah, that really could be it. The murderer is one step away - at a remove - manipulating. I like it.

Make sure you check out Buster's Mal Heart if you enjoy complicated movies and also Rami Malek. Barry and I will be discussing Buster when we record this week. And I'm more than a little nervous about it as it is soooo complicated. So many possible explanations. Until next time @Chris - and say hey to England for me. I miss it.

Personally cannot even remember Little Things presently... even though I wrote this review! hahah. Just wanted to welcome you Chris to the party. If you really enjoy movies that make you think and this universe of films, we are glad you are here. Heck, we are glad you are here regardless. But you might want to also join us over on the discord as well... if you are really into this stuff. We are constantly talking about new movies over there. Happy to send you an invite if you are interested.

I'm new to this site and now I can't stop reading reviews on it. Me own thinking on it was that Sparma was like a "familiar" type character. Like Renfield for Dracula. The real killer was someone he knew from work(possibly)and that Sparma couldn't or didn't ever even want to kill anyone but "got off" on being so close to it and was being used by the killer to twist the police in knots so that the killer could get away with it. Sparma aswell due to lack of evidence. So he wasn't the killer but he wasn't innocent and it didn't work out to well for him in the end.

What about Sparma having the key to the gate? No one is addressing this tiny fact. Why would he have a key to a gate in the middle of nowhere??

This was not a great movie. I would not suggest my audience to watch it as I do many many movies. This movie was good, it had DW who is always good, but this is a very unsatisfying movie. It was good enough to not quit, and good enough to go in search of "what did I miss, I must have missed something?"

But no, I did not miss anything but RM's character dug more holes. I must have looked away/been distracted and missed that, it simply looked to me like he was pathetic and whining that he killed that schmuck who pushed him to far, and DW had to complete the jerb of burying hippy boy.

By the way - hippy boy deserved to die for being such a A-H@le, and telling RM he would show him where the bodies were etc etc etc. He was a murderer even if he had (maybe) not yet killed anyone yet, he would have soon. PLUS RM did not intend to smack him in the head with a shovel, it was NOT premeditated, but hippy boy pushed him, taunted him, wound him up a like a spring and hippy boy got what he deserved.... AND RM was instantly sorry he did that. So... I forgive him.

The only problem is the real murderer is still killing people and that sucks. This movie kind of sucked. It seems like the writer had 7/8 of an amazing "tie it all together" at the end perfect movie but fell short of how to do it. The writer seemed to "almost have it", I bet the writer struggled trying to perfect it, but in he end failed.

It is OK to not catch the murderer (as we did not catch the killer in "**ll*n" (no spoiler) a truly GREAT DW movie. BUT.... to not even allow the viewer to find out who was behind the anal light bulb caper.... come on man!

I define a great movie as being re watchable (many time) to see it all again, this movie is not that. There is not reason to re-watch this. I got it all the first time.

But I do thank the OP (TH) for this write up confirming what was going and what I might have missed... but I did not miss anything. The red berret was a good plot piece, but not a great one.

I just watched this movie and came across you post. I still am not sure whether it was Sparma or not. However I do want to say I feel that the killer from the beginning is a red herring. I do not believe it is the same one they are looking for in the main part of the story. When he went into his trunk to get his gear to chase after and capture the girl his kit had tape not cord or wire the the other victims were tied with. And I didn't notice any plastic bags to put over her head either. The car he was driving was blue. The jogger with the red barrette was being followed by a brown car. Of course we don't know if she was a victim of a killer since her body had not been found during the movie. It is just an assumption that she is a victim of the same person. Some of the things that lead me to think t still may have been Sparma, may be circumstantial but maybe a little too coincidental as well. The spool of brown wire like the kind used to tie up the girl found where he worked so he had access to that material. Also the beer that was unspoiled from the victims fridge was the same as what was in his fridge. And the hidden box under the floor which had not only news clippings but a rabbits foot and a watch souvenirs maybe? Yes an enthusiast may have a place scanner and possibly clippings from cases that interested them, but to have he clippings not to mention possible souvenirs hidden...I don't know. Of course his car is green, unlike the blue car from the beginning or the brown car following the jogger. So who knows? Of course neither of those two may be related either. All in all I did enjoy the movie and it definitely keeps you thinking.
