I loved how this was a more realistic take on someone who experiences trauma. I feel like trauma even in TV shows has become so formulaic where everyone takes the right steps and heals or has a fabulous breakthrough when life is not like that at all. We often stumble along the way as this show embraces.

i wrote a review of this series on my facebook page after i watched it. in short, i was BLOWN AWAY. michaela coel is brilliant

this show prompted me to evaluate some of my own traumas. i personally found it to be therapeutic. the way she framed her story was just really unique and powerful. it’s an examination of what consent is – and she does it without being preachy, which is refreshing (promising young woman does this really well also)

This show is magnificent. Simply magnificent. I was in L.A. recently and saw a big giant billboard devoted to it. It should be posted in every city everywhere. Michaela Cole is a force. It is hard to imagine someone being so talented as to be able to tell a story about sexual assault in such a fully formed way. I could go on with superlatives but you get the point.

I told you ‘I May Destroy You’ is awesome…did you forget?! Yes, sometimes difficult to watch but so very relevant when trying to understand today’s young adults. I also think it’s a must for the Gen X generation and older to watch. Yep, we, the old folks now and tend to judge just like we were judged…

This is a fantastic show with so many layers that even the layers have layers. We should definitely discuss it. But I absolutely hated Run! The protagonists are absolutely awful. Plus it was already canceled so the end just kind of hangs there. I know how much you love Phoebe but Run missed the mark with no one to root for.
