This was something special I must say.the anesthetics were sooo visceral and I completely bought the father and sons world both the life they had chosen to to create for themselves and the world they would find themselves in. I always have to give credit to a movie that does this particular thing to me. Film has been my love since I can remember and so much of the way I think comes from the perspective I would imagine I share with filmmakers, for whatever that's worth anyway. But I mention this because it's very regular for me to remain very self aware while I watch a movie, in other words I remain very conscious about the fact that It is a film, how interesting it must have been to set up that shot, that's a beautiful edit, what a performance, and that's not altogether a problem or a cause for less enjoyment. But I imagine , and I say this because I cannot speak for anyone else's experience, but I guess I assume that most people go to watch a movie specifically to lose themselves in it or escape into what they have come to know as the movie Going experience. In any event I say all this because every once in a while I will find myself so overwhelmingly moved, empathetic, or floored we ith beauty that I truly forget for a moment I'm engaged in a familiar scenario . So along with everything mentioned I just wanted to say , Lisa I too noticed and nearly flew from my chair the significance in him walking away from his trash, in the begining
the blue plastic bag which the father stops everything to snatch it from the air and basically make it dissappear from his world, not only did that scene set the stage as expert exposition, see if you can find anything that color blue elsewhere in the movie, I haven't given it a second go but I would bet it's not much there.
But about the ending too, it was probably b lt the only moment I was taken out of the world and I was a bit bummed with the direction they went, I was amazed when I thought it had ended before we follow the son into thw world, then I was kinda of surprised they went there but not sure where they'd land, and then he leaves the trash and that to me was that moment that unfortunately ended up king one a move for open endedness for a sequel or something, may not have been but it felt so out of tune with the rest of the movie and I would bet it was tacked on after the ridiculous thing they do now pre-screening a test audience mostly filled with those who need that sort of closure. But it being an issue paled in comparison to how much amazing there was.
One last thing I must point out was the score was absolutely phenomenal. I the closing scenes in the cabin where she is deeply undergoing the change the sheer beauty of it juxtaposed with the horror of what was happening was so well accentuated by the beautiful musical accompany
Not sure if anyone has experienced the last of us the first or second but the funniest people are literally clickers from the spores and mushroom growth from the body to the lack of site and wild head arrangement.
Anyways I felt I had to add my two cents this was a special one for me everyone thank you. Ps. Not that almost all of then aren't up there this one was just right there you know what I mean.

Remember I told you this one was enjoyable despite the message? I think it’s pretty clear by the closing scene of the son gobbling his fast food and then I believe he even leaves his trash behind. So it’s one of those “protect Mother Earth or she will bite back” films but mushroom people are still pretty gnarly!
