Meghan saying "but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true!" is all I really needed to hear. I wasn't looking for her to say "ha, ha, you found my deep buried subtext". Rather, I wanted to see if she was open to the various (and fun) by-products, corollaries, that result when one writes a screenplay dealing with time travel and loops. Even if it wasn't knowingly intentional, I still feel that scene (shown in the above still), where Russell's in front of his parked car, overlooking a magnificent Santa Clarita sunset ---> and he's staring down at his phone, excogitating his next pick-up... feels like Bowen puts more into that moment for us to feel. Felt directed that way too. Certainly would have been cool, if somehow, some way, the movie we're watching is actually Russell's 2nd (or who knows, 3rd, 4th) try at this. Besides being a basically nice guy (as far as we know), I get the sense that Russell is an 'open' guy, meaning, curious, inquisitive, flexible (to a point). For all we know (and I easily wouldn't put it past her), she could be lying about this being her 'first run' with Russell. Just fun stuff to consider. Look, you can poke and search through this site and find lots of great examples of time travel/loop films. And usually, it's either one of two ways: either (a) the writers take pains to strictly define their time loop parameters, so as to leave no room for any fun alternate offshoots.... or (b)... they don't. And well, if they don't, the "oyster is our world"!

See I was right about that when we talked about it on Discord. Which makes this film unique with the time travel aspect since it’s just you traveling around the years of your life. Really enjoyed this film! Great interview!
