I'm not sure because it was quite vague, but I have a different take on the Zone 414 ending... im thinking the 'deal' Guy's character struck with Veit (or however u spell the owner/ creator's name) was to se reply kill his brother. Everything else was an elaborate ruse... Im thinking creator-guy found out about his sadistic brother killing his troublesome daughter as well as the other violence in the Zone (perhaps by Guy's character), and secretly hired Guy's character to kill his brother in the zone. As part of the deal, Guy's would have to implicate himself as well as give video testimony as assurance that he wouldn't try to double-cross or blackmail the creator. In exchange, Guy's gets his Android girl.... then it would make sense that the original hire to find the daughter was real, because he wouldn't know the android girl b4 that, and he made the separate deal after finding out the brother was guilty and telling the creator. With that, the whole ending makes sense.

I rather enjoyed this one even with the somewhat unsatisfactory ending that will let the zone go on and the androids continue to be abused and used for money. It definitely was a thinker in this regard. David made the deal he could so at the very least he could free Jane who was more self aware and pretty despondent over her life. That’s not nothing, I guess!
