I loved, loved, LOVED Squid Games!!! And it’s not the type of movie I would generally be drawn to watch. But I jumped in and, wow, what a great ride!

Aaron, the remake is actually really good. I recently saw the original but like Taylor said, most people probably haven’t. I found it interesting how they were able to change location to a completely different country but keep the story almost exactly the same. Plus unfortunately it’s hard to get folks to watch subtitled films. I know so many people who just won’t watch them at all. I don’t get it but it is what it is.

I agree… and yet, for this one? I’m for it. What, 12 people saw the original? Netflix will just crush it – and it’ll get widespread viewings. Personally, I thought the first one was ridiculously good – and even for people that dislike subtitles, should have been worth it? But Jake? I don’t know? Personally I cant wait to get my hands on this remake. Just stoked for the creators of the original to get their time in the sun finally.

If you can’t mess with the original, why even bother to remake it? Just watch the original The Guilt with subs.

All these pointless (and usually terrible) remakes make me GRRRRRRRRR

Chris deserves a shout out for his excellent collation skills. I watch em and he sorts em! Thanks, Chris for selflessly doing the Discord clerical work of keeping tabs of the stuff we mention. Heck, sometimes I watch so much stuff that I forget about it by the time it gets here and then I remember it all over again!

It’s funny about Nowhere Inn-I had no idea who this woman was when I watched it and knew nothing of her music but I still really enjoyed the meta aspect of the film. Plus it’s a searing commentary on fame.

Squid Game-what can I say? It’s bloody and nuts!

My Zoe is so not what you expect it’s going to be. Yes, it’s a sort of sad drama and then it goes way off the rails.

Every Breath You Take- the critics didn’t love this one but I did.

The Guilty is proof you don’t need to really change anything else besides the language when redoing a film . It’s a faithful English language reproduction of the original film and JG is fantastic. The original is also fantastic and I highly recommend both.
