This movie was actually released at the perfect time. I’m a diehard watcher of The Crown which is the show about the Royals that shows all the cracks and that they haven’t been very happy with. The past season that recently aired is about how Charles and Diana met and eventually get married even though neither one of them really wanted this. He was with Camilla before, during and after as we all know now. It’s a fantastic show if you haven’t watched it. This movie happens some years after but we already know these 2 do not belong together and that it was a match made in Hell. I found the foreshadowing in this film about the paparazzi very jarring because you just want to scream at Di to be careful even though we all know how her life eventually ends. KS is absolutely amazing in the role and she had the mannerisms and the way Diana spoke down to a T. Fabulous actress. So yeah, this film is a very stressful watch! I get what you are saying about being gripped into a vise right up until the end. But as we know it’s a very short lived reprieve for poor Diana. She wanted so much to find a little bit of happiness in her life. She loved her boys so dearly and that was always evident and shown in this film. So this is a very good film but I’m hard pressed to say I really liked it just because of the subject matter. But it’s definitely worth watching even just once.
