Unfortunately there are many people who are choosing pseudoscience over real science these days. I’m living proof the vaccines work! I had my 3rd booster shot one week before Christmas and I actually found out on Christmas I had COVID. My doctor had tested me a few days before just doing due diligence. I did not get sick at all from COVID except for a headache and body aches for a few days. I would not have even known I had it if not for the positive test and I attribute this to my vaccination status and high antibodies. So I really can’t understand people who are refusing to get something that is free and will protect them and make their lives easier! Plus it protects others around them. I also have a family member like your friend that believes every conspiracy and pseudoscience she finds on the net. It’s exhausting to talk to her.

So I found this film very timely. Art believed in science but still questioned the unknown which was the fact they said no one could survive even though there was no way they could know this. Is it realistic the government would give out medication to wipe out the world? No, but I got a chuckle out of the fact that the world would be left with Art and the marginalized folks who weren’t able to get the medication as a way out.

Cool review, thanks. And, Lisa’s comment strikes a chord about Art surviving small-mindedness. It’s an intriguing movie. And, it resonates with me regarding a long time ladyfriend, with whom I lived during Uni. She was a singer/performer and became an osteopath. But she fears being vaxxed, so she can no longer perform her nightly gigs, and the BC government is mandating that all chiropractors, osteopaths and naturopaths, be vaxxed. My friend might lose her license and her two clinics. She has always been a little stubborn and probably won’t get vaxxed, and will most probably lose her business. I want to ask her, what if the science was wrong and all we vaxxed peeps are going to die, would she be happy in life without many friends and patients???

Grr! I just wrote a long comment and it got wiped out. So annoying. Anyway….Die Hard is one of the best Christmas movies out there. I also have a soft spot for Love Actually and Home Alone. Almost everyone in this film was petty right to the end and found no redemption. Then we have Art who questioned everything from the start. He questioned how the scientists knew that no one could survive this and also why they didn’t give pills to the undocumented. So I would go as far to say this is a happy ending. The world will be left with the people like Art who obviously was the best one of his small minded family!
