That was a great review. The best I found so far. Maybe I shouldn't but I agreed with Dall when she tried to explain to Dani that she should try to better herself instead of asking her to rest on her laurels. In my opinion, this film is asking if you are naturally good / gifted at something, are you really good at it? Or demonstrating that being good at something means learning it from scratch (as a novice) and working hard to become an expert (majoring in physics + beating the varsity record) in a short amount of time.
Having said all that, I agree with you that she has not changed at all. Her transformation was only physical. To be honest, for her to change, she would have to develop an awareness of the underlying issues. This might be difficult for her at this stage.

I’m so glad you liked this. I’m so not a sports movie person but I adored this film as it was a mindjob for me watching her push her body and mind to extreme limits. Once she attained the win she was done. Time to move on to the next obsession, I guess!

I used to read like you. I had this app that recorded all the books I read and I would do annual challenges to read more books than others I knew using the same app! I was reading 3 or 4 books a week at one point. Now TV has turned my brain to mush and I probably only read a few books a year now.
