I'm not so sure about this one yet. I've had it on my list for a couple of years - think I put it there when I first found your website? - and only got around to watching it now. Your curse theory does make sense, but in my mind, I guess I always saw it as something like "you think you're doing the job, but /you/ are the job" type of thing, you know? Like someone chose Parker to be some sort of experiment, hence their insistence on keeping him there. For the most part, I thought he was hallucinating from mercury poisoning (we have a lot of water shots and fishing references and for some reason, my mind went there) which was totally intentional by whoever hired him, which in turn led him to associate himself with the other case of the woman who died and the man who committed suicide (let's not forget he did start cutting his wrist open in the shower that one time). I think the reason we don't know much about Tenneal is because there isn't anything to know, she's just another pawn in whatever game the client is playing - probably Bret's father, no? And of course, the guilt and the grief only add to everything and make Parker's mind weaker and more susceptible to being manipulated. But like I said, I'm not sure about this one yet.
