It was mediocre. I truly do not understand the high audience scores except for if people like it for the nostalgia. The plot is pretty lame and the best thing about this film is that they are using a lot of the same music from the first except for some song by Gaga. I wouldn’t spend money to see it. Wait for streaming.

Even if they made it today and based it in the 80s like Stranger Things it would hold up. Timeless. But my fond memories of Top Gun have more to do with the days of hanging out with my friends at the movie theater. We had a little one screen in our town and we got thrown out around the love scene for being stupid kids. So then we went across the street to this drive up restaurant we used to have that was awesome and where everyone hung out. I was 12 at the time and had my whole life ahead of me. And thanks to you now I remember it was 36 years ago and I’m now old. So thanks for that! Just kidding. I haven’t watched Top Gun in it’s entirety probably in 30 or so years so I don’t know how it would even hold up for me now. So I’m not in any hurry to see the new one although I’ll probably hate watch it when it comes to streaming!
