I’ve already discussed this on Discord ad nauseam but a few thoughts:

I think at its core this film is about her process of healing after her husband either falls or takes his own life. She still feels immensely guilty but by the end she just seems over it and quite ready to move on from it all. The different facets of the same man could be her thoughts as she tries to process what has happened. The men all being injured in ways her husband was points to her thought process about it all. He finally emerges at the end and still wants to be loved but she really isn’t having any of it. Of course she will always hold some kind of love for him in her heart despite the ugliness that happened but it seems at this point she is ready to let go and get on with the rest of her life as per how the film ends.

But I also think it’s not meant to be so clear cut. Even reading an interview about it, both the main actors agree it’s an ambiguous ending. So I don’t think there is a completely right or wrong answer here as to what it all means.

I didn’t love this film. I could even say it was hard to watch. But I think that is because I connected with it on many levels and it made me revisit my own past traumas. So I probably would not watch it again because of that but I’m also not sorry I did watch it if that makes any sense!
