Yes, I'm with Lisa. I thought Aubrey Plaza was excellent and has always been one of my favorite up-and-coming actors. It's sad because it highlights how marginalized a criminal record makes a person. Not only does Emily not have a degree, but she's still got a crap load of student debt (and the dreaded interest) and a felony record. Realistically how is a person like her supposed to get ahead? She tried it the legal way, but it's so much harder for a person with a felony conviction to get by and have a job, a home, and a life. Yes, I know what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, I have relatives that have been incarcerated, and yes, they had and are still having a hard time making ends meet. Emily did what she had to do, and I have to say, I would not have the balls to do the same. I loved the interview scene where she gets honest about how publishing/PR companies take advantage of young, struggling adults trying to break into a career. Yes, where's the money? I work like a dog, and one day you may offer me a job. That's BS, and I can tell you that internships in other professions PAY you. I was an intern for Texas Instruments (yeah, I'm old), but you best believe I got paid. I love the ending.... Emily do your thing

I adored this film. I really did. AP was fantastic in this role and I could relate to her choices and also her attitude considering her past.If you remember, her character is from Bayonne, NJ and I think she gets the Jersey girl tude down to a T. I won’t mention how you accused me of being from NJ, though! Haha! But I just did.

Anyway….yes, she’s a total criminal but I still found myself rooting for her. Her one friend was an annoying and superficial flake. But I thought the same thing- they really were going to steal the dog?!?! So I’m glad she was able to turn the tables and get the dog back. I was also glad she was able to get away. She had to make a hard choice at the end but in reality, what could she have really done? She was hip deep in criminal activity herself so staying would have just landed more paper onto her record and a life full of dead end jobs due to that record plus no end to her crushing debt. I love movies like this where people aren’t all good or all bad. It’s much more realistic than rooting for someone who is totally innocent.
