Are you sure it’s “Johnson” and not “Thompson”? Rotten Tomatoes gave this thing 90% fresh. I found it 90% annoying. Very much the setting of a one act play, but this is way too long. It’s a movie. They could have had some (more flashbacks?) to explain the animosity between Steve and Paul. The claustrophobic setting needed help. Contrary to the grieving relatives on the news, who always seem to say,” He didn’t deserve this,” Paul did.

He earned whatever violence that was done to him. Contrary to the grieving relatives on the news, who always seem to say,” He didn’t deserve this,” Paul did.

The conversation between Michael and the well dressed man needing to warm up. Michael seems to imply there is a strange reason for him passing by a gas station as if he wanted to end up at the oak room. Anyone know what that’s about? Did it contribute to Michael’s motivation to bash him with the phone?

Steve was definitely in on setting Paul up to be killed. He moves Paul’s baseball bat. Paul sets it on the bar shortly after Steve comes in. We see it’s still there when Paul goes to get Steve’s father’s ashes, but that’s the last time we see it. At the end when we see the headlights, Paul reaches for the bat where he left it on the bar, but lo and behold, it’s gone. The only person who could have moved it/taken it is Steve.

What did Steve see in the basement? Why was the bartender a rat? Much left to one’s imagination. Also if Paul knew Michael was coming trough the door why not prepare and grab a weapon?

I believe that Steve and Michael were working together. And there was no town drunk to see it all happen. It was Steve. Also if you notice. Steve and Micheal say, on multiple occasions, the same things. Word for word. Who Jimmy Johnson is. Is not important.
