And yet a more interesting interpretation to a fairly predictable, poorly thought out, half hearted road trip movie would be that Rose actually dies in the end, and that her ‘star’ goes up into the sky and it’s her ghost that imagines the fairytale ending. That’s why she doesn’t drive, that’s why the sky is so grey, that’s why teddy looks longingly into the distance - because she’s not really there.

Oh - good question. I don't remember! Want to say something like "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" by Bryan Adams?? That rings a bell. Or maybe "More than Words"? Who knows. It was awful, whatever it was. Nothing possibly as cool as Dead Man's Party, that's for sure. Oingo Boingo!!!!! hahaha.

Oh! I totally forgot to ask- what was your prom song after all? Mine was literally the worst! “Show Me Heaven” from the Days of Thunder soundtrack. Lordy. Just terrible!

I really liked this mess of a movie. It’s definitely not sci fi despite the synopsis but more of a drama set in a dystopian world. One correction- the boy was actually playing cards with his father, not his grandfather. Anyway, the fact that Rose was ultimately being haunted by herself shouldn’t really be surprising considering the guilt she was carrying. But as you said, her sister didn’t really have that perfect life after all. She knew about her husband. After Teddy asks her what she saw crossing over she said something like “it was everything all at once” which probably would be pretty hellish to have to relive those moments for eternity but in changing her mind she gets the chance to make new moments and memories. A sweet little film despite the low budget.
