They knew enough to trick Gunter onto the ship under the guise he would meet his mother on the home planet. They specifically told him the video of his mother was filmed on Lunabor. So what is the motive? This has to mean something. The aliens are not good and virtuous. Why does Lizzie not tell him? Also, what is the meaning of the play and how does it connect to the 2nd half?

I think it’s also important to note that this filmmaker also made Borgman which is also somewhat about religion. So there’s a continuing theme there. He’s obviously got a bone to pick with religion-
