Nemo says something at the end when he’s really ranting about this paradise being his prison or something to that effect and I think that there isn’t just one theory to explain this film. Everyone is right because that is what they took from it. Personally I kept expecting that the actual resident was watching Nemo the entire time like some sick kind of visual art project but this didn’t happen. I still kept imagining it. I loved this film. On the surface it’s a perfect closed box film but it’s really so much more than that. The fact that everyone watching it comes away with a different theory to explain it really speaks to how good it is.
