It’s ambiguous but someone took a bit of a stab of it here. It wasn’t a complicated ending so I’m not sure a complete walkthrough of it is even necessary. We are left to assume she goes back to the life she wanted with her family in tact with Mal never meeting the guy who made the machine in the first place.

Yeah, that is a flaw in the construct of the story, and really all things time travel where we watch different threads or multi-versal (gah I hate the multi-verse concept so much, such a weak narrative idea, or excuse... but whatever.) switch without broad memory impacts. That's a fair critique.

It’s funny, you did kind of forget to do an explanation of the ending of this one. As I recall the ending was ambiguous and we don’t know exactly what Sophie finds in the end and who is there since she isn’t the one who initiated it. But I guess we are meant to assume it’s a happy ever after for her and her family since it’s a movie and all.

I liked this one because it addressed the consequences of their actions but like the guy above me I found the memory retention a bit nonsensical as well depending on who was initiating the time travel but I guess they needed this for the plot.

Looks like I can't edit a comment, but "About Time" is correct title of the movie I was trying to reference, not "After Time."

I liked this film on the whole. I particularly appreciated the way it took seriously the effects of time travel (or a time bullet) that goes back to before a given child is conceived, as that's something almost every other time travel movie gets wrong (with After Time being the only exception I'm aware of).

However, I simply couldn't buy the BS "quantum observer" explanation for why the main characters' memories were preserved. The moment they pressed the button, everything should have reset, very much including their own memories. I get that something along those lines was necessary from a storytelling perspective, but the way they went about it felt cheap and just pushed me a bit too far beyond my suspension of disbelief.

I need more info on this film!! I watched a CAM version so I lost some dialogue. so what did they decide to do at the end?

And how did they heal or save Aggy the daughter of Darbys wife? Can you go through the different time bullets? thanks!
