The aliens probably repaired her.

I still think the ending is not really a happy one despite the portrayal of her looking happy. It’s not going to last. She has violent tendencies as we saw with her behavior with Maude and apparently some great killing skills since she took out a bunch of aliens. She’s not going to be able to have any real kind of connection with anyone else since they are all mind controlled and also because she’s the only one aware of this. So it’s only a matter of time before this gets to her. Imagine being the only person aware?

I mean, this girl is clearly not right in the head. I felt no sympathy for her or her predicament because of what she did to Maude. She deserved to be ostracized for that. Maybe the aliens know what they are doing to her is really not a kindness but rather a punishment. Just a thought.

Okay. Brynn was stabbed by clone Brynn. How did she survive that?

So she forgives herself for killing Maude and lives a happy life with aliens controlling her neighbors?

I liked the film for its pacing and jumpy scares. I did not know where it was going. Not sure I’m satisfied with the “Oh gosh let’s let her go and live her life”.

I forgot to mention one other thing that this screenplay does right. You get all of the pertinent info about this film without any dialogue! It’s only the best kind of actor that can pull this off and a well written screenplay. I didn’t see you touch on this here and I think it’s important. It’s well into the film before there is any dialogue at all and I think it’s near the end when she says “I’m sorry, Maude!” So the small failings of this film certainly do not outweigh the good parts, hokey looking aliens aside.

I had no idea where this film was going to go and my complaint was the same- they made the aliens look like what a child might draw an alien looking like. But her thing with Maude- certainly not an accident. She’s a stone cold killer and I’m wondering why she isn’t in prison instead of sewing dresses for people on Etsy. And then she kills a bunch of the aliens so I was pretty surprised when they decided to let her live her life like she’s in her miniature little town because that’s what it is, right? She’s carving out an existence in her model town. But I think that eventually she would get sick of this little facade being a stone cold killer and all but the film just kinds of ends there. I imagine her snapping one day and probably taking out all the pacified residents but that’s a movie for another day. I also wondered why the aliens were there in the first place but this info is never given to us. But for 90 minutes it’s pretty entertaining.
