Great. I hoped I would find a comment section.

Initially when I first watched Maggie's accusation, I was sure Hank did it. Why? Hank asked about Maggie when he was with Alma drinking at the bar after the night of the party.

But I was also suspicious about it all, Maggie had found something in Alma's bathroom. She wanted Alma to be the one to support her and stand up for her, etc. It just had a sus feel to it.

Alma on the other hand was right to have her doubts and hesitations; her hidden relationship with Hank, knowing that Maggie had plagiarized her dissertation, knowing that Maggie was obsessed with her, and if you noticed the night of the party she did notice Maggie watching her and Hank with a frown, and Alma already had that hidden trauma were she ruined someone's life by lying about abuse(even though she was groomed and that shouldn't have happened to her), there were so many scenes that just didn't stand out that I think was important or just left there to distract/confuse.

Also, Hank's monologue was just an absolute mansplaining shit-show. Even if he was innocent, I wouldn't have believed it sitting across from him and listening to that. He definitely didn't help himself by pulling the stunt he pulled at Alma's apartment. I can't argue for his innocence at all.

And I wanted to believe Maggie, but there were so many times in the story that I doubted her. Especially when Alma was consoling her in the park and she looked coldly at the statue. How she kept waiting for Alma to acknowledge her. How she didn't seem really affected by the whole thing but kept submitting think pieces to the press about it.

The ending of the movie made me restless, like hearing the beginning of gossip, and missing out on the juicy ending bits.

Loved reading your article. At least I can see that you actually watched the movie.
