Mike I will respond to you specifically via email - but for those of you that come here in the future I would definitely start with this post right here. I wrote it specifically with this exact question in mind: http://bit.ly/e0hgnd (5 Best Mind Bending Movies). Please note all the movies I list at the top and also the movies the commenters bring to the table as well.

So that's what I'll say here. If you stumble on this comment and my answer and want more, maybe Mike will be good enough to share my email with you all later. hahah. Or I will. Or something.

Thanks for asking Mike.

I just discovered your blog, and when I went to the "Contact Me" page, it gave me the following text that looks something like an error, "[contact-form-7 id=”6407″ title=”Contact form 1″]".

Anyway, I discovered your blog when a friend recommended The One I Love, which I adored. I really enjoyed the idea of the dopplegangers, trying to figure out what was going on, and not knowing who was who at certain points. While reading through the comments, I saw that there were some other recommended movies, and I started watching some of them. So far, I've also seen Coherence (which I really enjoyed), Upstream Color (which unfortunately wasn't for me, but I can see why some people liked it so much), and Enemy (which I enjoyed, but much less than The One I Love, and Coherence).

I also have previously seen Primer, Memento, and Inception, which I enjoyed (I think Memento the best). I like movies where there's some sort of puzzle that you're trying to figure out, and more clues are revealed as the movie progresses. But I also like it when there's a fairly clear answer of what was happening (which I think is partially why I enjoyed Enemy a bit less...are they two people, is it one person, was this all subconscious, etc.).

I was wondering if you could recommend any other movies that are similar to these, or that are puzzle-like in similar ways.

Thanks for your time, and also for your blog. It was thoroughly fun to read through about The One I Love. When I watched it, I felt certain that in the end, Ethan-A unknowingly ended up with Sophie-B, and when she suggested bacon, he realized who he was with, and decided to just accept it. But it was a lot of fun reading other interpretations, and while I don't think I can be swayed, it was a lot of fun to read through so much analysis.

Best,

Mr. Holmes! Bradley King here, writer / director of Time Lapse. I just wanted to say I stumbled on your page while seeing how our results in Google were looking, and I was very impressed! It's really gratifying to see someone accurately analyze and break down the movie. Our outlining board looked very similar to your dry erase boards. Great work!
