Shelby -
Have you seen Victoria yet? The real time flick - ie 120 minutes of real time acting? Best "foreign" film I've seen in ages. And it's a bank heist film to boot.

But as for Old Boy, I'll go find one version or the other. Sounds like I'd probably prefer the original (Like Nueve Reinas vs. Nine Queens... totally prefer Nueve to Nine) but your pitch for the follow up intrigues.

Generally speaking, I don't spend a ton of time on older movies here because I get quadruple the visitor bumps off of new movies. Like Arrival. I generally get 5k visitors a day? But with Arrival, it did, by itself, 5k visitors a day this past week. So it's hard to go backwards when I get like (total lifetime reads, not daily) like 300 to maybe a 1000 people that check them out. Not that I don't like older films. They are fantastic. It's just hard to spend time reviewing them and talking about them.

But I am still working on that stupid Predestination review! hahaha. Promise. Finished the second watch of it last night. You really have to work hard to get the timeline perfect.

Of the ones you haven't seen, I HIGHLY recommend Oldboy. If you like foreign films, watch the original. But I saw the American remake first and I prefer it (diehard Oldboy fans would smack me for saying that).

I asked because Side Effects reminded me of Primal Fear but I didn't want to ruin the plot without knowing first if you had seen it. Usually I like endings where the "villain" gets away with it, but in this case it felt good to see her get what she deserved. Also, I kept thinking she looked like Kate Mara and didn't realize it was her sister until I read your review and saw her name.
