I’ve watched it like 40 times and I still lose half my bodyweight in sweat through my palms. It is the most intense thing I’ve ever witnesses. Alex gave us a taste of the limit of human existence. Incredible experience.

I know, right? It’s playing on my desktop currently whilst I “work”. Truly unbelievable feat. Highly doubtful I could walk up the backside in 4 hours, let alone scale the sheer granite! hahaha. Pretty unbelievable…

And by the way, I’m thoroughly jealous you saw it in IMAX. Wow. Best IMAX I think I’ve ever seen was by far The Dark Knight, and there were only like 4 or 5 fullscreen scenes. This movie would be out of control. I hyperventalated on my TV. Movie theater would have sent me into anaphylactic shock, let alone IMAX! hahahaha.

I’ve watched the last 20 minutes of this movie at least 30 times. It is a triumph of personal achievement in pushing the boundary of the possible. iMax version at the movie theatre was absolutely the best use of the iMax I’ve experienced. Definitely deserved the Oscar and the cinematography, it’s use of drones and highly skilled climber/photographers was as epic as the ropeless ascent. More thrilling than SpaceX, or the Moon Walk to me because it is the culmination of one man’s obsession and dedication as opposed to the combined effort of many.
