TRIANGLE OF SADNESS – 10.7
I literally know nothing about this one. But I’m transfixed already. And, unfortunately for you, I’m avoiding spoilers and any sort of hint of spoilers before watching. So, I can’t (and won’t) even give you a summary on this one. But, I think it’s a story about a cruise for the ultra rich? And maybe it crashes? I don’t know. Woody Harrelson in a fundamentally foreign film that might be a think piece on the rich heart of darknessing it? Yeah. I’m intrigued.
TÁR – 10.7
Set in the international world of classical music, the film centers on Lydia Tár, widely considered one of the greatest living composer/conductors and first-ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra. Cate Blanchett as one of the greatest conductors of all time? Plus, is Tar a play on words? Yes, I understand it was her name… but, come on.
Amsterdam – 10.7
Set in the ’30s, it follows three friends who witness a murder, become suspects themselves, and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history. And it has a wickedly stacked cast. Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Harold Woodman (is this Tenet sequel??), Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Michael Shannon, Taylor Swift (?!?), Robert De Niro (??????!), I mean, the list just keeps going, and I haven’t even gotten to Rami Malek yet. hahaha. This is going to be a huge movie.
