“Do nothing. Stay and fight. Or leave. In 2010, the women of an isolated religious community grapple with reconciling a brutal reality with their faith.” The fact that this story is occuring in 2010 is the craziest part of this story. Will it be a real life Handmaid’s Tale sort of story? I don’t know, but I’m intrigued.
THE ETERNAL DAUGHTER – 12.2.2022
Tilda Swinton + Tilda Swinton = magic?? I actually thought the world would implode if you ever added two Tilda Swintons into anything. “In this ghost story from acclaimed filmmaker Joanna Hogg, a middle-aged daughter and her elderly mother must confront long-buried secrets when they return to their former family home, a once-grand manor that has become a nearly vacant hotel brimming with mystery.”
EMANCIPATION – 12.9.2022
Well, we know that Apple considered delaying the release of this movie after the slap heard round the world. But apparently they figured to just go for it and see what happens. Seems like a really sad premise. I’m sort of over Will Smith as an actor – and that has nothing to do with the Chris Rock slap. But who knows, this might be an amazing journey in the vein of The Revenant maybe? You guys might talk me into it. We will see.
