THiNC. Movie Spotlight #98

Getting really close to Spotlight Number 100! We should do something BIG for #100. Hrmmm. Thinking. I will be doing an interview with Omar Leyva in the next week or so after the release of Bardo, Alejandro G. Iñárritu latest film, so maybe we’ll run that in Spotlight 100?. Or maybe we’ll do a give away, a car! Or maybe just like a Patreon subscription give away?!? hahaha! We shall see. But today is not that day, today I just have some great movies for you all.

Seriously though – maybe we will have a THiNC. Patreon White Elephant gift exchange to celebrate? If you want to join in, take part – make sure you jump into the Patreon to partake. (Email me for more details if you are curious – taylor at taylorholmes dot com.)

The Pale Blue Eye – 12.23.2023

If this doesn’t look like a Prestige knock off, I literally don’t know what does: “Veteran detective Augustus Landor investigates a series of grisly murders with the help of a young cadet who will eventually go on to become the world-famous author Edgar Allan Poe.” This looks gloriously good. Christian Bale will always be winning.

MINDCAGE – 12.16.2022

“In this spellbinding thriller, detectives Jake Doyle (Martin Lawrence) and Mary Kelly (Melissa Roxburgh) seek the help of an incarcerated serial killer named The Artist (John Malkovich) when a copycat killer strikes. While Mary searches for clues in The Artist’s brilliant but twisted psyche, she and Jake are lured into a diabolical game of cat and mouse, racing against time to stay one step ahead of The Artist and his copycat.”

Babylon – 12.23.22

From Damien Chazelle, Babylon is an original epic, set in 1920s Los Angeles, led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.
