THiNC. Movie Spotlight 128

Hey there gang! Spotlight number 128. Wherein I up periscope, and survey the cinematic landscape to see what might be out there in the land of technicolor and see if we can’t find you something interesting to watch today. And today? There are some really great movies I’m looking forward to. Also – I’m currently watching a crazy, super super Indie (ie. micro budget film) called 11 Minutes Ago. If you can figure out how to get your hands on it, more power to you. Still waiting for official channels to distribute and make available to the wider world. Please let me know if you find it on a legitimate streaming or theatrical avenue.

APORIA – 8.11.23

This film looks really legit – a time traveling movie with actual consequences? Actual ripples and repercussions? “Since losing her husband Mal (Edi Gathegi) in a drunk-driving incident, Sophie (Judy Greer) has struggled to manage crippling grief, a full-time job, and the demands of parenting her devastated teenage daughter (Faithe Herman). When her husband’s best friend Jabir (Payman Maadi), a former physicist, reveals that he has been building a time-bending machine that could restore her former life, Sophie will be faced with an impossible choice–and unforeseeable consequences.”

HEART OF STONE – 08.11.23

This film reminds me a little bit of Charlize’s film Old Guard. Minus the live forever bit. “HEART OF STONE is “rip-roaring action” and “adrenaline-fueled espionage with twists and turns.” Don’t miss Gal Gadot as Agent Rachel Stone, “one of the most exciting action heroes of our time,” along with Jamie Dornan, Matthias Schweighöfer, and Alia Bhatt in HEART OF STONE. Only on Netflix August 11.”

THE POD GENERATION – 08.11.23

Is this going to be like The Lobster maybe? Or not with such a dark spin to it? Not sure. “In the not-so-distant future, amid a society madly in love with technology, tech giant Pegazus offers couples the opportunity to share their pregnancies via detachable artificial wombs or pods. So begins Rachel and Alvy’s wild ride to parenthood in this brave new world.”

LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY – 8.13.23

Out on the 13th over on Apple TV. Based on the book. Looks pretty interesting. Lots of big stars at least?
