The Great War Project Takes You Back To School In A Good Way
Geek Full Disclosure. I’m a huge fan of History. History podcasts. Historically based movies, books, what have you. So this just may not be your thing. Don’t worry. I will judge you for it.
I just recently discovered this thing called The Great War Project? Have you heard of this thing? It’s a Youtube channel that walks us through the Great War (World War I for those of you that slept through the entirety of high school. Don’t worry, I know who you are, you are the seniors that did drugs throughout art class and made me do your assignments for you. GRRR.) And it is publishing weekly 10 minute videos discussing this week’s events in World War I exactly 100 years ago that day. Currently there are over a hundred of these videos and I’ve basically fallen in love in the first 5 videos.
WHAT IS “THE GREAT WAR” PROJECT?
THE GREAT WAR covers the events exactly 100 years ago: The story of World War I in realtime. Featuring: The unique archive material of British Pathé. Indy Neidell takes you on a journey into the past to show you what really happened and how it all could spiral into more than four years of dire war.
If you are interested in jumping in on the project with me, you can find out more here. If you just want to jump in on the first one and go from there, you can do that here. And heck, why don’t we just play there first one here for you to get addicted to. You have to keep your brain engaged though dangit, because this crap ain’t simple, and Indiana is moving a great clip. Ready those brain muscles… 1 2 3 4! Good, Let’s goooo!
