Welcome to Spotlight 67!! Dia de los Diablos plus uno! Or something. Look, these trash intros that no one reads don’t write themselves. I sit here… and clackity clack each one into existence. And you just scroll on by, heading straight for the movie list… blissfully ignoring all the typing that goes into these stupid introductions. Hey… if you read this intro – will you comment in the comments below? Let’s see how many people are just raping and pillaging these posts shall we?? hahaha.
Bullet Train – April 8th
Loved watching Brad Pitt in the recent Lost City movie – hilarious – and think this could be an amazing film for Mr. Pitt to carry. Looks like he is going to crush this one. We will see. “Five assassins find themselves on a fast moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops in between. They discover their missions are not unrelated to each other.”
Ambulance – April 8th
I loved this movie. Why? Because of the moral highjinks that Michael Bay goes through to justify immorality. It was literally… Speed, in an Ambulance. Not metaphorically… literally. The only thing missing here? Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. But it was fascinating to me all the same because you have two bank robbers, brothers, and they are committing outrageous atrocities, so how do you backflip your way into redeeming them? Or do you? I was really intrigued by this particular movie… even though it was warmed-up dog vomit. Still, I couldn’t look away. It’ll be worth a discussion eventually.
Midnight – April 5 – theaters and on demand
Fear grips the country of South Korea as a serial killer, (Squid Game star, Wi Ha-Jun), stalks its residents. Kyung-mi, a deaf woman, is out late with her mother when she stumbles upon a young woman bleeding out in a dark alley. Now a witness to the killer’s brutal crime, Kyung-mi is being ruthlessly hunted down. Will she survive or become his victim?
Alice – March 15th – theaters
Just finished watching this one, and probably won’t specifically recommend it – and yet – I can’t not recommend it either. So many people are saying that they are done with woke-ism, and I’ve had it. So I’ll probably write this one up and dismiss these nay-sayers. Sure, it Antebellum meets Jackie Brown… got it. And yet, there is a deep vein of insights here in this movie. A rivulet of wisdom that I really enjoyed. Anyway – if you really want to chew on the ongoing problems that slavery caused? This might be intriguing to you.
